Wisper Salon – The Final Product November 21, 2008

I got my hair done tonight at Wisper Salon in Manalapan by my lovely & talented friend Tiffany.

Don’t you love my foil head?  Gotta cover those grays!

And special request by Julie M – here is a bad cell phone pic of the final hair “do.”

Just look at those highlights!  You go Tiffany!!

And while I was there I got to see the final poster from the makeup shoot (shown in Wednesday’s post) live and in person!  I couldn’t resist taking a few photos because it’s so exciting to see your own work in the spotlight!

The master colorist of the salon (below) – Tiffany!

Do you know any good stylists in NJ?? – Help Wanted!

Shout out to my sister at www.cranburycustom.com who does all of Tiffany’s advertising (see the posters in the window_

Up close!

Yay!  So exciting!

I thought it would be nice to share this with all of you since many of you have been there for me throughout my journey over the past and half.

Thanks for cheering me on along the way!

The Final Poster – Wisper Salon November 19, 2008

Below is the final selection from this shoot for the poster that my friend Tiffany needed for her salon.

I’m glad she picked this photo one because it’s one of my favorites from the session and I think it highlights what she is advertising perfectly!

We ordered it in a 20×30 and it should arrive any day now.  I can’t wait to see it in the window at the salon!

ANGELICA! Make-up Shoot for Wisper Salon – Manalapan NJ October 24, 2008

Tonight I did a make-up shoot for my great friend Tiffany who manages Wisper Salon in Manalapan, NJ.

Tiffany is going to enlarge one of the shots to poster size and display it in the window of the salon to attract customers for professional make-up services.

Our Model was Angelica.  She was the perfect model for the shoot!  Her eyes are GORGEOUS!! I’ve never done a photo session like this and I’m soooo pleased with the results!!

Here are a few preliminary shots.  I loooooooove #1.  Are you kidding me with those eyes???!!!

PS….she’s only 15 years old!  Can you believe it?

A quick shot of Angelica and her sister at the end of the shoot:

Jo Ann…in a Field…in the Dark August 29, 2008

I couldn’t come up with a catchy name…so the title is just what it was:  “Jo Ann…in a Field…in the Dark.” 🙂

So, strangely I’d been imagining this shoot for a very long time.  I imagined a woman…in a fancy dress…in a setting such as an open field…or a flower patch.  I wanted the evening gown to be a complete contradiction to the field..something that just doesn’t make sense…a beautiful girl all dressed up in the weeds (if that makes any sense to you!)

I told Jo Ann, my good friend and trusty photographer’s assistant (and model many times over), my idea and she was game for the idea and even had a dress that she thought would be perfect – and it was!  I was so thrilled that it was all coming together!  Last Friday I finally had a chance to do the shoot after work once the sun was setting.

I knew of a grassland preserve close to my home that had an open area for waking the trails flanked on each side by waist high natural growth of all different kids of wild flowers and wild “weeds.”  I figured this would be the perfect place to try out my imagined idea.

(Click on the landscape orientated photos to view them larger)

The only thing I didn’t figure on…was the fact that once it got dark I would no longer be able to focus my camera!  I put the camera in manual focus and tried to focus on a street light and then shot like that for a while in the dark!

And then the idea spring up to use the light of the cell phone! LOL.  Yes, we used my cell phone to light Jo Ann’s face!  It cracked me up for some reason.  She held it next to her cheek and I focused on that spot, she shut it and then I snapped.  If only I had a flashlight with me. HA! Next time!

Behind the scenes:

I have a few more to process but there are some of my favorites!  I hope you like them.  It’s so fun to have a vision and try to play it out.  And it helps to have a beautiful willing friend!! 🙂

Jo Ann at the Colonnade July 21, 2008

Ok…so I’m sooo excited about these photos of my beautiful friend Jo Ann (who is also my beautiful photo assistant).

Buckle up because there are a lot of them to see.  I couldn’t narrow down so you’re going to see all of the ones that I love from the session.

We were trying to decide what to do on Friday night and I ended up asking Jo Ann if she wanted to do a photo shoot because I had an “itch” to try something new with my lights.

I mentioned the long walk to get to the Colonnade structure (in Princeton NJ at the Princeton Battlefield State Park)  HERE in this post on Friday. Normally I wouldn’t have cared about a long walk but I was rolling that suitcase of equipment (that I showed in Friday’s post) that weighed as much as a small child. LOL!

We stopped half way to the columns and I took a couple photos:

Then we got to the columns and I set up the one SB800 which I shot through a 45 inch Westcott umbrella (Thanks Mike for the suggestion).

I may be a lighting guru but I love the results that I got.

I LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE this one with the texture!  OH MY GOSH!!

Umm, yeah, this close up is awesome!

Jo Ann, your eyes look great (and my necklace was killer for this photo shoot!) 🙂

Texture is so yummy!

This location ROCKED!!  I can’t tell you how much I loved this place!!

Jo Ann thought she looked like she was at the edge of a mountain here:  🙂

This is on my my TOP Favorites of the shoot that I LOVE!  I think it’s the light and the way Jo Ann is looking into the camera.

Ummm, yes, I loved doing this shoot!

Jo Ann may not have ever done any formal modeling but she was awesome at this photo shoot!

Yay Jo Ann!

Thank you big time!  I love them!
